Value Engineering

Value engineering involves evaluating many of the critical components of the project to determine whether the products specified and the systems designed are the most cost effective means to provide savings and ensure quality. Overland’s personnel are experienced at examining the cost of materials and the work flow of the project to create the most efficient and cost-effective means of delivering the right product for the best possible price. To ensure competitive pricing, Overland has developed an extensive data base of qualified architects, engineers and subcontractors. The selection of the right architectural firm and engineers are critical to the successful completion of a project. Architects and engineers, even those who have been in the business for a long time, are notorious for representing that they have expertise in a certain type of industry, when they do not. If the wrong consultants are chosen, the whole process bogs down in a morass of design issues and construction problems. Subcontractors also represent that they are capable of performing certain types of work, when in reality they have little experience in a particular field. It is Overland’s responsibility to ensure that these key players are qualified to handle the project.
